Pole Barn Summer Applications

We all know how useful a pole barn can be in the winter. Being able to store vehicles, materials and equipment in a safely enclosed structure protects our things from snow, ice and wind. As the weather starts to get warmer across the country, however, a whole new set of climate hazards arise. The spring and summer season provides many reasons for using a post-frame building.

UV Exposure – The warm summer sun feels great, but prolonged exposure to UV rays can damage the exterior of many objects including cars, trucks and motorcycles. Sun exposure can also dry our crops, flowers and other produce and if you need a durable and affordable solution for summer storage needs, a pole barn is a great idea. To battle the sun and take advantage of its solar power, consider installing solar panels in your ceiling.

Rain – Depending on where you live, spring may be a very wet season. Spring rains can be sudden and intense and if you have machinery and supplies that are sensitive and will be damaged by water, keeping these items safe is priority number one. Pole barn buildings on your residential or commercial property are ideal for quickly getting vehicles, animals and materials out of the rain.

Heat – In addition to the harm of the sun's UV rays, there is also the matter of heat. Summer can bring long stretches of very hot and dry weather and this can be harmful to farm animals and crops. Being able to hide animals from the searing sun and storing fragile crops in a cooler environment will allow you to provide much needed relief from the heat.
