Post Protectors - The Answer to Post Rot

Post decay occurs when the following conditions exist: moisture saturation of the wood fiber, oxygen, and a temperature range of 40 – 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  Together these conditions enable the living micro-organisms, abundant in soil, to feed on the wood fiber, otherwise known as decay.  Post Protector is a “barrier system” that eliminates soil contact and the ability for the soil dwelling micro-organisms to access the post.
This decay can happen anywhere and at any time.  Don’t risk the unseen damage that this decay can do to your pole frame barn.  The damage can be catastrophic to your structure and by the time it is recognized it will be too late to salvage your building.
The Pole Barn Company is pleased to announce that we offer the Post Protector system on all of our barn packages. The Post Protector will fit all posts, standard and laminated, we offer.
“Landfill Liner” is a material used in the manufacturing of Post Protectors and has an impressive 449 years of          geo-application life
“Barrier System” eliminates decay causing “soil-to-wood” and “concrete-to-wood” contact
Eliminates chemical “migration” or “leaching”.  Pesticide remains with wood fiber where it guards against               decay
Retains typical “post in the ground” construction technique
“Build It Green” – the safe, responsible way to set chemically treated posts in the ground.  Chemical                           treatment stays in the post
Framing friendly – designed to easily accept framing
Lightweight, flexible, and strong
Stronger, faster, and less expensive than the concrete pier and steel bracket method
Horizontal, perimeter ribs yield substantial post uplift protection
Attractive appearance with rich clay tone color with wood grain texture
Vertical venting system allows the posts to breathe
Easily trims to desired height
Simple, slide-on installation
